Lesson 1 / 6
Clean kit, every client
A bride trusts you with her face and eyes. One dirty brush can pass an infection from one client to the next — and eye infections spread easily.
- Never double-dip. A mascara or lip wand that has touched a face goes in the bin, not back in the tube. Use a fresh disposable wand for every dip.
- Creams and lipsticks: scrape a little onto a clean palette with a spatula and work from the palette. Don't apply straight from the pot or bullet.
- Pencils: sharpen between clients. Sponges: a new one for each client.
- Brushes: wash with soap and water after every client, dry fully, and keep them in a clean, closed case.
- Your hands: wash or sanitise before you touch a client, every time.
- Mehendi cones and nail tools: see lessons 3 and 4.
