We call the backups you chose first. If none can come, you get your fee back plus compensation.
What you pay, and what it covers
Two payments, two people
- Sajeya's booking fee
- Paid to us when you book — 18% of the artist’s price, and already included in every figure you see on this site. Nothing is added at checkout.
- The artist's own charge
- Paid straight to her on the day, once she has arrived and done the work. She receives it in full, and nothing reaches her in advance.
What the fee covers
- Verifying the artist before she is ever listed.
- Holding your date, and keeping your contact details private until she confirms.
- Booking Assurance: if she doesn't arrive we work down the backup artists you chose. If one can come, your fee carries over — you don't pay twice. If none can, we refund it in full and pay you 10% of your booking value, up to ₹5,000.
Cancel before your artist confirms and the fee comes back in full. After she confirms it does not — she has blocked out your date and stopped taking other work for it. The whole policy, including how refunds are paid, is in our cancellation & refunds policy.
Why Sajeya exists
It started as four frustrations.
There was nowhere to compare what artists actually charge. Every price was a message away, and none of them were itemised. When I did find someone, all I had to go on was an Instagram profile — and followers and comments can be bought.
Booking meant sending a message into the dark and waiting, with no calendar to tell me whether the date was even free. And on the day itself, nothing stood behind the arrangement. If an artist didn’t arrive for something that only happens once, that was simply your problem.
Sajeya is the answer to those four, in that order.

Common questions
Do I get to choose my own artist?
Yes — that is the whole point of Sajeya. You browse verified artists, look at their real work and itemised prices, and book the specific person you like. You are never assigned someone at random.
What does the "Verified" badge mean?
Every artist is checked by our team before their profile goes live. On portfolios we go further: photos tagged "✓ Verified booking" come from a real, completed booking made through Sajeya, while photos tagged "Portfolio" were uploaded by the artist. That way you can always tell proven work from a showcase.
How much do I pay when I book?
You pay Sajeya's booking fee when you book — 18% of the artist's price, GST included, shown as its own line before you pay. You pay the artist nothing at that point: her own charge is settled directly with her on the day, once the work is done. Every package on the site is itemised — how many looks, how many hours, touch-ups, how many people are covered, and any travel charge — and the price you see is the all-in total.
What happens if the artist does not turn up?
Raise an issue from your dashboard and our team steps in. If your artist does not arrive, we work down the backup artists you chose. If none of them can come, our Booking Assurance pays you the booking amount and a service-failure amount — the Cancellations and Refunds page sets out exactly how it is calculated. You are never out of pocket for the artist's own charge, because you pay her directly on the day and that payment never happened. This is why we ask you to book on the platform rather than settle privately: if there is no record, there is nothing for us to act on.
When do I get the artist's contact details?
Contact details stay masked until the artist confirms your booking. Once confirmed, both sides can see what they need to coordinate the day.
